The Lake of the Woods Business Incentive Corporation (LOWBIC) has become a cyberspace leader in private sector job creation.
The business development agency’s new website, www.lowbic.on.ca, was recognized with the Award of Excellence in Business Support Services by the Ontario Association of Community Futures Development Corporation’s Annual Conference in late June.
“We wanted to create a user-friendly environment, someplace that’s going to provide appropriate information to help people who are looking to start a business or make changes to their existing business the right information and fairly easy for them to access,” said LOWBIC’s executive director, Ryan Rynard.
Hosting information and tools for small businesses to encourage entrepreneurship, LOWBIC’s website is already generating approximately 450 user visits per month. It allows anyone in the Kenora area access to everything needed to start up a small business from the comfort of home.
Reynard sees potential in fitting its tools to suit client need in order to make it more effective.
“We’ve got future goals of continuing to understand what our clients’ needs are and take that feedback and make adjustments to the website as appropriate. We always want to be relevant and we want to provide interesting and current information for our clients.”
